Our Breakfast Program ensures our students are energized, well-nourished, and ready to learn and is one key driving force of our success. In remote areas, like Matènwa, malnutrition is not uncommon and food scarcity is a harsh reality. Some families cannot guarantee their children one meal per day. By providing a daily breakfast, you help prevent absenteeism, reduce dropout rates, and promote a happy and healthy learning environment.

How can you help?

Rely on your friends! Raising just $320 within your network means every student at the Matènwa Community Learning Center is guaranteed one meal. $1 = 1 meal. How many can meals will you make possible?

1. USE SOCIAL MEDIA! (If it's your thing)

Post this graphic (on the right) and ask your friends to help you gift a certain number of meals. We suggest 320 meals to start, which guarantees at least one meal to every student enrolled in the Matènwa Community Learning Center.

You can post the  caption under the graphic, modify it, or create your own!

2. KEEP YOUR FRIENDS MOTIVATED.

Post an update when you reach milestones! "First donation is in. Let's keep it going." "We're half way there" "Only 40 meals left to go."

3. THINK OUTSIDE OF THE SCREEN.

Use any network you have access to. Colleagues? Yoga Mates? Neighbors? Hiking Crew? People are happy to support causes they know you care about it. Spread the word!

4. ASK US FOR HELP.

We'd love to help you get a fundraiser started. Contact Jemima@matenwa.org to get it going!

I support MCLC because I believe quality education is KEY in Haiti's fight against poverty, insecurity, and  injustice. MCLC fights for social justice and honors the right of each and every Haitian child.
