  The Good Body
Bon Kò

Pou mwen yon bon kò se:
For me a good body is:

Lèm bebe map grandi sa se yon kò pou paran m ak moun nan kominote a. Moun ap toujou felesite m Oh! Gade yon bèl pitit manmi abiye ou bèl.

When I'm a baby, I'm growing. This is a body for my parents and for people in the community. People congratulate me. Oh! Look at that beautiful little one! Your mama has dressed you so pretty!

Lè m fin gran map pare pou lavi, mwen gen chwa: aprann nenpòt sa m vle, fòme yon fraye ou non fè tout sa ki entèresan pou mwen.

After I grow up, I'll be ready for life. I'll have choices: learn whatever I want, form a household--or not, or just do whatever is interesting for me.

For me, when a girl has a good body, it means she doesn't have any pressure weighing on her mind

Pou mwen yon fi gen yon bon kò se lè li pa gen kenn presyon sou tèt li, li gen dwa pale dwa revandike.

She has a right to talk. she has a right to disagree.

In the society I come from girls and women don't have the rights that belong to them.

Nan sosyete pa m fi yo pa gen dwa yo vre.

Gason yo jwenn djòb pi plis ke fi yo se gason ki okipe tout plas.

Men and boys find jobs most easily, which makes it so that they already occupy all the places.

How, when I can't find work, can't find what I need to live, how can I have a good body?

Koman mwen paka jwenn travay jwenn sa m bezwen epi pou m gen yon bon kò.
